Oil in Radiator Resourvour and oozing out.

Hey guys,

My friend has a 2004 F250. He drove home last night and had no problems, but then when he came outside last night he noticed oil on his tire. He opened the hood and noticed that their is oil in the radiator. He cheked the engine oil and it appears to be clean. The truck has been in the shop 7 times in 18 months, but it just out of warranty - 102k miles, 100k warranty only Does anyone have any experience with this or know what it could be? Thanks.

Re: Oil in Radiator Resourvour and oozing out.

More than likely Oil cooler is leaking into the coolant.

Anyone know how much this generally runs to fix?

Re: Oil in Radiator Resourvour and oozing out.

Is there actually oil in the de-gas bottle or in the radiator itself?

If there is just oil on the outside of the radiator he may just need a new oil cooler or need to tighten the lines on the oil cooler. I have seen lines get loose on an oil cooler and then when you drive around the leaking oil gets blown back all over everything behind it and makes things look alot worse than they are.
