Why don't you take the truck for one of those 15 minute drives that ends at the dealer and let them look at it while it is leaking??
last time i took it in the drip was there and they did run dye thru it and at first they thought it was coming from the head but then they said it was the oil filter housing. When I checked again yesterday, the oil filter housing was clean but in the area around the head was dirty. We thought that maybe it was still some left overs so we cleaned everything off and then I will drive it again, if it shows up again then back to the dealer.

I dont understand...bandaid fix on CAC tube?...what problem did o/f cause?...turbo lag, how much lag? What was reflashing for? Way you explain o. leak...repairs done..ok for week. You drive it 15 min. oil leaking, wierd for sure. If oil actually dripping & like TR said..why not drive it right back to dealer? Yeah I know maybe cant etc etc, your choice. Are you ok with going back to same dealer?
It still is under full warranty I only have 30,000 miles on the truck. I had to pay because it was my fault, they said they had 4 hours in it but only charged me for 1 hour (cleaning) and the 85.00 for the reflash. They said they reflash would help with MPG and my turbo lag issue. The lag did not happend until they replaced the boots, it seems like it justs takes longer to get up to speed and I don't have the take off power I used to. Also the psi is running around 20 consistenly and it never used to do that. I will go back to the same dealer, maybe if I give them a BJ with will fix it right this time

DG...Your certainly thinking. If your 6L made more boost (at least 22/25psi) & just normal t. lag before CAC tube replaced & now only 20 psi, appears something wrong with how boot installed or ? Reflashing sounds wierd cause dont know about mpg, but your power loss was before, not after repair. Better luck on next visit. hmmmm?

btw..being under full 3yr/36K mi. warr. is good. Keep taking back until its fixed. Based on reports here (+mine) can take numerous trips to dealer.

DG,I would ask for the 85.00 back for the reflash, you did'nt authorize and it is pobably a TSB for the truck. They reflased one of my rescues and it was a slug on takeoff. For the oil leak it is probably the bedplate. All 3 of ours have been in for that and other leaks. They probably don't want to get involved in it.The Ford Dealer closest to me hunt pecked for a oil leak 5 different times on the same unit. That is why I finally got Ford to authorize us to do my own warranty work.As for the wrong oil filter the burden of proof is upon them!!!!You should take the matter up with dealership GM.Okay I,am done Ranting about Six Leakers and some of the incomptent dealer techs and they know who they are!!!

My dumbass did authorize the reflash because they told me it would give me better MPG than 10 which is what I am getting now plus some other promises that didn't carry out. I wish I would have spent 85,000 to become a diesel mechanic instead of a freaking accountant. I had told them about the bedplate but since it is so labor intensive I don't think they want to do it. Plus I am a stupid female who doesn't know anything, I just change my own oil and my own fuel filters. I haven't done anymore since I am new to the whole diesel thing, give me a blowermotor and I am good.

And it makes one hell of a mess to clean up. I would rather use the UV dye.

We cleaned off the filter housing and I took it for a 100 miles trip on Friday and when I came home the drip was back on the bell housing, I check the filter housing and it was dry as a bone so the oil filter issue is not the problem anymore. I called the dealer and they told me that they are at my mercy now, I told them that I just wanted the leak fixed. So she goes back into the shop but not until the 16th. So hopefully third times a charm, I still think the leak is coming from the passenger side head or the bedplate.
