Popping noise and feel under floorboard

Does anyone know what this could be? I feel and hear a pop as the vehicle shifts from second to third...driving me crazy.

Re: Popping noise and feel under floorboard

On some of these vehicles, there is interference between the shank of the #2 body bolt and the body of the vehicle. Roll the carpet back from under the brake pedal, remove the black rubber plug, and remove the bolt. Reach under the vehicle and remove the bottom of the #2 body mount so you don't lose it. Do the same on the passenger side of the vehicle, and drive it to see if the noise changes or goes away.

Be careful on the test drive, because without these bolts the vehicle is not compliant with safety regulations.

If the noise goes away with the bolts removed, carefully grind away the sheet metal that is contacting the shank of the bolt, and reinstall the lower mounts, bolts, and rubber plugs. Position your carpet back, and you're redy to go.

Re: Popping noise and feel under floorboard

Sounds similar to something I'm experiencing, but it's primarily on accelerating from stop, stopping, and general angles enter/exit. Stealership actually found that something in the frame/body that requires some shims... they ordered it yesterday.

Re: Popping noise and feel under floorboard

It could be the sway bar endlinks. It only happened when going over bumps.
