power and fuel loss

2005 f350; once colder weather arrived, hard starting, lost power and fuel mileage. I use block heater at night and runs great in morning, and none of the lost power occurs... after sitting at work for 10 hours (without block heater), hard start and sluggish power for 10-15 minutes while driving home. Using blockheater seems to cure the problem... but why? I am in Ft Worth, TX and this issue began this year, and when temps were still above 50... yes, i have used Power Service fuel additive thinking that i have bad fuel, but no help.

Interesting, I am in Indiana and I am having the exact same symptoms but just move the temp scale down about 30 degress F. So whatever is causing it is the same, yours is just worse. I recently switched to full synthetic 5W-40 and added one quart of schaffers moly EP lube. Pretty good results, starts better in cold and runs better sooner. You might try same product or hot shots secret.
