power loss 6.0

Hi,
I'm a newbie with diesel and any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
I have a 6.0 and a few weeks back I stepped on it, acceleration was fine it was when I stepped off the gas pedal and then tried to re-accelerate there was a bad bog I had to feather the gas pedal to bring the rpms up because it seemed like it wanted to stall almost like it was choking, there was also a sound? ( the only way I can describe it is similar to having a stone in your hubcap, would that be the turbo?)after that everything was fine till yesterday when I had a cold start and drove it 200 feet 3x's and had to shut down each time, the second last start it wouldn't start just turning over, I had to step on the gas pedal before it started.
