Concerning '06 6.0 F250 cab lift plan. I don't have access to vehicle lift but do have access to a space with lots of headroom and solid joists....you can see where this is going already I bet.
I was thinking, how high does the cab really have to go to give workable access to the rear of the engine - e.g. for adding fuel through-flow tubes or doing a 'head-on' stud replacement? I'm just noodling on the idea of using a couple of Hi Lift jacks and a Pallet Lift to raise the cab a couple of feet.
Then I thought, if the cab was lifted off the frame using the Hi Lifts could I then slide a couple of 4*4 timbers under the cab, sling the timbers to the joists and pulley her up there! I'm not sure about how she'd balance of course and what kind of weight I'd be looking at.
So, the basic question, how high does she need to go to reasonably work on the rear of the engine? The Hi Lifts can give ma couple of feet and I'd properly block/support for safety.
These are the jacks...
