problem after intake install

the other day i installed an S&B air intake on my 04, after everything was done the truck runs very rough with no power and shakes. it was started once with the MAF not plugged in, did that mess it up? i have unplugged the batteries to try to reset the ECM. but that did not work. what should i do next?

Thanks peter

Pull the Mass Air Sensor off and clean it with electronics cleaner and check the plug and wires... You can start it without it plugged it it should just pop a code up. You prolly got some dirt or something on it and is reading wrong.

The MAF unplugged wont give that kind of problem. Did you happen to leave a rag or shop towell in the manifold? Pinched a wire?

How about re-installing original stuff and see what happens? See if the problem goes away. If it does the problem is not likely the install but the parts itself. My two cents worth.

Do the S&B intakes have o-rings that must be put on the bolts to seal them? My Banks has two small ones that seal the top of the bolts that goes into the cavity of the intake. These keep it from leaking intake air. Just wonderin'

How long have you let it run? Have you actually driven it, or just let it idle while it runs rough?
