Problems reoccur after warranty lapses question

What is the procedure if a condition that was repaired under warranty reoccurs after the warranty has expired?

How far out are you? Some dealers will work with you if you are just out of warranty for womething that has reoccured.

Good question. As I'm on my second R&R on my heads and spoke to my service writer about only having a year left on the motor. He said not to worry all this is documented and ford is well aware of the problem. Not that any of that makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. I think we will still be SOL.

I think that on your Ford paper work that has the repair it, it states that the work is warranted for 12 months or 12,000 miles from when it was done.

I think this is correct.

That's what I thought, however..

Wanna say on "OEM" warr. work isn't covered after OEM warr. expire's, even if repair's done one day before OEM expire's. Hold on now. [img]/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif[/img] I do recall there's a specific catch (so to speak) how warr. works after OEM warr. expires.

Maybe member who knew (for sure) will answer again? May have been a tech? Answer in archives, but I couldn't find it.

My dealer said the parts are warranted for 12 months as long as they are genuine Ford parts BUT LABOR IS NOT WARRANTED! The is true for most Auto Parts store parts also. Heck, Advanced Auto and those places have lifetime warranties on certain parts.
