Proud owner of a new 6.0L

I love my new 05 Lariat diesel! I am very impressed with the 6.0L so far. I can't get over the fact that this motor can give an 8000lb truck some get-up-and-go. Oh ya this is my first diesel truck so I'm easily impressed. Heck, I find myself turning off the radio and rolling down the driver side window just to hear the turbo .
So two weeks ago I traded in the V10 and stepped up to the diesel and haven't looked back. From 0-500 miles I took it nice and easy. At 500-1000 I pulled my 24' enclosed trailer and now its ready for the first oil change.
Any way just thought I'd let everyone know that I'm running with the diesel crowd now and lovin every minute of it. I'll post in the aftermarket forum next month with my add on results.

Pics are in my sig.

Re: Proud owner of a new 6.0L

I currently have 1075 miles on the truck. My plans are to change the oil at 1000 miles and then the next at 5000 miles. When I reach 10,000 miles, I might go Royal Purple synthetic. Basicly I'll change the oil every 5k miles. Overkill? I just like fresh oil.

Re: Proud owner of a new 6.0L

Your oil schedule seems to be raesonable. I would delay the synthetic oil for a few changes to give the engine time to settle in. Several will argue that it is not needed (the delay in the switch to syn oil). I did my switch at 37,500 miles. Did I wait too long?? I don't think so. I did it for the romps.
