When it has been sitting all night in the cold it puffs blue smoke for about 3/5sec, not everytime, but pretty much when it is cold. Running 15 40 Rotella and I just ordered the cord for the heater. Ebay, brand new $25!! Hopefully this will make her happy when it is cold out??

Mine always does this as well, I think its more of condensation than anything. $25 for the cord! Damn you I've been looking for over a month and only find the one guy selling them for $65ish.
I searched "block heater cord ford 6.0" and it was the first one that popped up. His name is "sam the diesel man" His name is Josh and his last name starts with T. $28 total (shipping)
Awesome deal from what I see folks posting about the stealership prices. Give it a search, the guy emailed me (maybe automated) with tracking info this morning and I ordered it last night. He lives in Conyers, GA which is very close to Winder, GA.

I know the international part number cord is cheaper, but doesn't have all the features of the Ford cord, maybe that is the difference. Oh well, I'll keep searching. Have you had any problems with your truck starting up yet? Does it even get that cold in GA? It's dipped down to the teens at night here so far, but our cold season is just starting. I'm still running 15w-40 so I want to get the cord anyways.
We will never see teens for the most part. Mine starts no problem in the mornings. A tad sluggish versus starting in 80plus weather, but no problem. We have dipped down to freezing once and that was it. I really did not know there was a difference in cords....hopefully it will simply keep the truck warm and make it alittle smoother to start. No problem starting, but man it sounds like something is about to fly out from the hood!!hahaha

No the only difference in the cords was where it plugged in I believe the Ford one was more insulated, and it also had connectors attached to keep it up out of the way, where with the international one you would have to zip-tie it. No biggy, both work the same.
