Question?

Occasionally when taking off from a stop my truck seems to hesitate, blows out a little black smoke and then runs just fine. It doesn't do it at every stop but seems to be doing it more often. It runs great other than that. Had oil and fuel filters changed last week but didn't change this problem. No mods on my truck. Could it be EGR or bad injectors? Any ideas appreciated.

Re: Question?

What is the mileage on the truck?

Any codes present?

Does it do it more often cold, hot, or does it matter?

How long does the hesitation last? Seconds? or shorter than that?

Re: Question?

66,000 miles--It does it hot or cold. Last only about 1 or 2 seconds, blows out the black smoke and then runs fine. Have not had codes checked yet. won't be able to return to this sit untill this afternoon. Thanks for any ideas.

Re: Question?

Firecap,

mine did that as well. They replaced the EGR valve at the Dealer. Cost was under $100, so I just paid it. Then Ford sent me a refund.
