Evans Coolant eliminates cavitation of conventional coolant at 250F

With conventional coolant used with water you have pockets of steam
in the head passages wich cause boilover and head warpage and failure.

with Evans the coolant will not seperate from the jacket or cylinder liner wich always transfers heat into the coolant and into the radiator.

Giving you more time behind the wheel than under the hood.

There is a guy on FTE w/ 580k miles on his 6.0L and he used Ford Gold its whole life. He has it apart and is METICULOUSLY rebuilding it. It did not have any cavitation damage or head warpage. So it seems safe to say that the Gold can be made to work just fine - properly maintained. That being said, if folks want to feel better w/ a change - power to them (I know I succombed to all the talk and put in the ELC Ultra - I like its chemistry).

Big Dan P -

The coolant and oil temps are "out of whack". I would sure follow djshums advice. With temperatures that hot, I would be hard pressed to say that you had head gasket issues. The most important thing to do first is solve your cooling issues.

I would also consider swapping the coolant and oil temp sensors as a test to see if one (or both_ are bad. Another test is to see if they both read the same as the ambient temp on a cold engine (after sitting all night).

Good idea. Ambient temp was mid 90's here in FL. I'll do the fan test first. As you stated would be much easier to do it while doing the water pump. When I ordered from Tousley, I ordered everything that was in the water pump category including thermostat and all the new gaskets. I'll do the fan test later today. Thanks for the input, Dan

Excuse me for posting so much. I am computer illiterate . I didn't realize another page had been started. Today, I erred on the side of caution and ordered a new fan clutch this afternoon. Haven't done the test yet because I got called into work. I figure that as much as I have in the motor already, what will another $285 hurt lol. I will look into any codes in the A.M. also. I will check the ambient temps on my gauge in the morning when I get home from work to see if they are out of whack. If they are, then I will be getting back onto Tousley to order new coolant and oil temp sensors. I deeply appreciate all the input from you guys. That's why I consider this one of the best forums out there!! Thanks again, Dan

In conclusion

Hey guys, I put in the new water pump, thermostat, and fan clutch the other days. Glad to say that I am not overheating anymore. I think it was a mixture of the water pump and the fan clutch. Since replacing them I haven't even got hot enough for the fan to kick on. I would like to thank all of you that took the time to help me figure this out. Thank you, Dan.
