ran for 15 minutes after new oil cooler, now crank no start-pictures
Just replaced oil cooler, started up no problem, ran for 15 minutes then shut off. Im out of ideas, energy and money! Ive unplugged ICP to see if it would start, but does not.
I have a 58V FICM and just installed an EGR delete.
I've got a AE scan tool so Im trying to determine why it would run fine for 15 minutes and then just shut off!
Tried to crank this morning. ICP wont go over 140 psi. IPR at around 14-15% with key on, then while cranking goes to about 84-85%, then back down to 14-15% after i stopped trying to crank.
see attached picture. Ive got the IPR out. The screen on the end of it is completely missing. Im gonna order a new IPR valve. My question is where did he screen go and what should i do now?
Well most commonly after an oil cooler change is that pieces of the old screen from under to oil cooler, or contaminants got into the stream feeding the pump. If you noticed the input screen to the ipr valve gone, There's a good chance that the crap got blown through it. You should be fine after replacing the valve.

Look inside the ipr, you may be able to see debris stuck in the valve holding it open. If this is the case, replace ipr. If no debris is found, you can either reassemble and air test to verify ipr is functioning, or replace it to rule it out as a cause. The screen is stuck in the pump, you will need to use an o-ring pick to remove it before installing ipr.
I didnt see anything inside the IPR, but i think im going to take the HPOP cover off just to make sure that there is no trash inside. Im gonna go ahead and install a new IPR.
I took a couple pieces of wire and connected them from the battery directly to the IPR, but i didnt here it make any noise or clicks?
Replaced IPR, put everything back together and fired right up. Now im having a problem with what i think may have something to do with the turbo. I dont have a boost gauge, but it seem like im getting no boost. I can floor the accelerator but the truck has no power and cant even get out of its own way. I cleaned the turbo while i had it out and used anti sieze on the unison rings and veins. I had the ypipe repaired by having an exhaust bellow welded in to replace the broken section.
The truck has been sitting for two weeks without being run.
After you reinstalled the intake manifold, did you put the rubber hose from the manifold to the map sensor back on? It goes from a nipple on the passenger side of the intake to a sensor mounted on top of the ac/heater box. It's often overlooked.

UPDATE: I took the MAP sensor hose off and inspected it. The hose itself was cracked and brittle, but not enough to cause a huge leak, but i will replaced it. I took out the nipple from the intake manifold that the MAP sensor hose attaches to. Upon further inspection, i found that the nipple was completely clogged with carbon/soot. Also, the port were the nipple screws into the intake manifold was completely clogged with carbon/soot as well. Probably from when i had the intake manifold out to clean it. Cleaned out both the nipple and the port and now its running great.
Thank you all for your help and advice.......it is much appreciated!
