Replacement Muffler

Does anyone know of an aftermarket muffler that will fit the stock exhaust (3.5")? I know the factory part has a welded tail pipe, so I'd have to figure that out, but I'd like to keep the stock tubing (for now) to test my theory of the "singing" muffler.

Maybe my only option here is a CAT back?

Thanks,
Scott

Re: Replacement Muffler

TexasTruck,

You can rig up a few mufflers out there to work, but the look and fit and finish will be less than great as the stock muffler is a low in high out and all the performance mufflers use a straight thru design. Your best bet is to get a cat back from someone like us and go from there. They are pretty inexpensive overall and will flow a lot better than the stock pipes too as the stock pipes are smaller in diameterand non mandrel bent. Take a look at the tail pipe as it goes over the axle and compare it to a MBRP ro AFE systems, much lower, smoother and better flowing etc. If you have any questions let us know.

Re: Replacement Muffler

Get an MBRP cat back(or turbo back for that matter). Affordable, great sound, and lower EGTs, you cant go wrong.

Re: Replacement Muffler

I have the MBRP turboback duals, with a Xcal 2 set on Extreme street. It is great. Get smoke outn of both sides. Check out Mark's site. He has video that you can hear the exhaust. Very cool. Keith

Re: Replacement Muffler

Hey Mark, thanks. I'm trying to determine if the factory exhaust is the problem... I've drive several 07's now and each one resonates. WHen the truck is cold, you hear is most. But I can get my truck on this long gradual slope in the AM and make it sing all the way up (200 yrds).

Have you heard of such a thing?

Maybe the turbo (new design?) is causing the fluctuations?

Scott
