Rocker arm failure

o4 F-550, 6.0L Motor was making popping sound so I pulled valve covers. I found 1 broken rocker arm. It looks like it just broke in half. The fac. manual says to remove cyl head because head bolt has to come out to replace rocker arm, it also says the inward head bolts can't be installed with the head on the engine because the head bolts hit the body of the truck. Does that mean that I have to pull the engine to replace a rocker arm

I have read of guy's pulling the heads with the cab on. When I had headstuds put in they pulled my motor out of the truck, the tech said that it was easier then lifting the cab.

ford came out with a tool to do it, you have to take that injector out and a peice bolts in the hole with the injector hold down and pushes the valves down so you can take the rocker off the bracket.

Thumbs up Rocker arm

Thanks for the answers. The special tool sounds like the way to go. I don't know where to get one but maybe I can make one.
