Severe puking incident help

Well it happened, pulling a large load I started severly puking coolant. So my question is since the truck has 106,000 miles on it we are replacing everything head gaskets, egr cooler, and oil cooler have there been failures after this has been done? Oh and I am getting the head studs in fact they were ordered yesterday. I am fixing this but I want to know if I need to make plans to get rid of it in the near future.

If you're doing all this, then I think you'll be in good shape. I'd look at a couple of more things, if you haven't already done it (no sig). A cooland filter will help keep the oil cooler from clogging again, and if you don't have gauges, I'd get a fuel pressure gauge to keep track of the HFCM. Low fuel pressure is a killer of the injectors. You might want to run a fuel pressure test befoer you button it up, and check the injectors.

Also make sure the block and heads are absolutly flat. some of the block surfacese were not flat coming from the factory. you might want to call Ryan Bean at BDP and talk to him. Tell him jerry with the orange and black Harly truk reffered you. He does this mod all the time and has never had one leak.

Update to engine SAGA

Update: I descided to go with the EGR upgrade kit, I think I can reuse the old EGR since we are updating it and redesigning its functionality it should work. I'd hate to spend $700.00 on another egr if I don't need to. Any thoughts?

You should really look into getting rid of the stc fitting and get the updated one, part# 4c3z-9b246. It connect's your HPOP to the branch tube, if this thing fails it will leave stranded.

Thanks BP6.0: They are changing that today. The service writer babe said normally they get 13 hr labor to change that fitting, unbelievable. I walked in to see the cab coming off my truck that is not something you expect to see but the mechanic said its the only way to get the heads back on with the studs, so at least he is well versed in the 6.0 problems. He also told me the 6.4L are starting to have injector issues.

Damn 13 hrs, that is unbelievable. I just had a tech do some work on the side for me, he put a remote oil cooler in, put the upgraded stc fitting ( now threaded fitting) and some updated d-rings which go on the oil rail where the stand pipe connects ( I am pretty sure), it took him a total of 10hrs.
