Should I buy?

New guy here looking to be a new powerstroke owner. I found a 2003 with 62000 miles on it. I had them run a oasis report and it showed the following. 10 aug 2005 turbo found bad and replaced, 23 may 2006 replaced 8 injectors and vgt sol ( what is this), 23 may 2006 replaced water in fuel module. Guess I'm looking for some educated advice on whether or not to purchase this vehicle Thanks

Re: Should I buy?

Run away fast it sounds like a time bomb If your looking for a truck that old go back another year or so and get one of the last 7.3's From what I have seen that would be better.

Re: Should I buy?

All new injectors and recent turbo. Doesn't sound bad to me. Those are the common issues and they have been addressed. What is the price? They are really dealing on brand new right now.

Re: Should I buy?

Doesn't seem like too bad an asking price. If you could get it down to the low 20's that might not be a bad deal. Keep in mind it's a buyers market right now for large pick-ups. I think you should have another year or two of warranty and 38k miles to find any engine issues. Check carefully for oil leaks also, they can be horrible to fix.(Or so I've heard. Mine is new and I've been lucky.)

Re: Should I buy?

Thanks guys, but they wouldn't come off the price any! Some dealerships just don't want to deal at all!

btw...its only worth what one is willing to pay.

Re: Should I buy?

Soes the selling dealer know that you know what the repair history is? If they are replacing parts, did they fix the customer concern or are you taking on a truck with problems they haven't corrected yet? Is that why the previous owner got out of it?

Those are things you could use to soften them on price. Make them start doubting the truck and be more motivated to get out of it.

Re: Should I buy?

I had the service dept at the ford dealership fax me a copy. I'm new to this as well. Anyone correct me if I'm wrong but the oasis report shows all warranty work and service done by Ford.
