slow to start

Ok my 2006 6.0 is cranking loonger than usual to start, the batteries are up and I do the same thing all the time but it cranks over and does not fire, if I let is rest for a couple of seconds it will fire. I do the same routine, turn the ignition on wait for the heater light to go off wait an additional couple of seconds and then crank it. When it was cold out it never missed a beat now the temperature does not seeem to have any bearing on it.
So what could it be?

I'm actually having the same issue with my 06. I was reading last night about turning your key to the on position and back off a couple of times to let the fuel bowl fill up. I did that today and it worked. Don't know what the problem is yet though.I'll keep you posted.

well first u nd to get a scan tool hooked up so that u can see if you are building enough icp(injection control pressure)...the pcm needs to c 600 psi to start. may be a high pressure oil problem or a fuel problem. gotta find which system to start in. good luck

OK here is an update, the truck died, flat lined, I was haulin' my 5th wheel and family to Mass. on I84, and that was it. The way it died leads me to believe it is an electricl issue if it was fuel wouldn't you think it would have bucked, back fire or farted? I think something was failing and now it has failed.
also checked all the fuses, dont know how to check a relay...

Watch movie in my signature. Oil filters are a reason for prolonged cranking.
