My truck has one of these oredered from the factory when i bought it new(it's an 05 f550)on the front axle to beef up the spring i thinjg their both the same thing ...anyways I was wondering where on the vehicle does it say that the front end has been beefed up? side driver door..if so it says front gawr 7000lbs. this sound like a regular spring and not the heavy duty spring i want. I don't trust my sales guy at ford oredered so i want to make sure. I know the back is rated at 13660pounds. Thanks for any help..

Re: snowplow prep pkg/exrta heavyduty springs?

on pg 14 of the specs. sheet, found here * click me * it will show what the options are for spring ratings with the packages that are available. 6000 lbs. is stock for a 550, 7000lbs. is with the plow package . Since you said that you have the 7K springs and you have the 6.0, you should be good to go. Though you'll need the Acrobat reader to view this since the file is a .pdf.

edit: The 7K springs also comes with the Extra Heavy Duty Suspension pkg. when equipped with 4x4 and the 6.0.

Re: snowplow prep pkg/exrta heavyduty springs?

If I'm reading correctly, you want to confirm what springs you have? ON that B pillar you'll also see a "SPG" wiht 2 letters under it like W B. That would be W code front springs and B code rear springs. I have no idea what you might find but the front is likely X or W, probaly W. Rear's I have no idea.
