First off, I would like to say thanks for all the good info and the good humor that this site offers!! But I traded in my '03 F250 for a 1/2 ton GMC Sierra SLE 4x4 Factory 20" wheels
Reasons are as follow:
Fits in Garage
Easy U-turns
Handles better
Softer ride
Just don't need the power now that my scheduling doesn't give me every other weekend off No Toy hauler or TT in my Future.
Got tired of seeing my service dept.
Piece of mind
Will I miss my Ford Truck?
Hell Yes!!!
Again, Thanks for all the info!
Happy Holidays!
Bryce
Thanks OT,
Just setting an example for creeper! Sometimes you gotta take a loss to make yourself happy. After reading the autoweek post I feel I made the right decision. Will I buy a Ford in the future?....possibly.
Happy Holidays,
Bryce
I'm not taking a huge hit because Ford sold me junk.
I'll go through the process and IF they can't fix my truck, it's back to the lemon law and I'll get ALL my money back.
Then it's off to get a GMC.

2006 6.0 Replacement truck Problem list.
Too extensive to list.
Days in shop so far 71 and counting as they still have it.
34K miles.
After spending a month in the shop and having it back only 2 weeks, it's back in the shop. Ford Customer service refused to send me a DSB Package. Told me the info is in the back of manual. Well truck is in shop and I don't have the info can you give it to me? No, it's in the manual.

Wait until after GM files for bankruptcy, they will be giving those D/A’s away….
A little off subject, but where can I find a muffler for my 1991 Yugo?
creeper, don't do the Chevy.. Go with the Dodge, and least you know you will only have to replace the following:
1. Transmission every 20K-30K miles
2. Rear End
3. Front suspension
4. 4x4 Vacuum Assembly
5. Steering Wheel
6. Front Diff
7. Block, if you get a "53" style block
At least I've got you thinking in the right direction!
Just goes to show that I miss my truck by still lingering on this site.
Cheers,
Bryce

Well, dang. I guess I didn't get this memo and need to rush my truck in to the service department. Evidently I need a new tranny. I guess I better start saving up because it looks like I'm in for some big surprises.
You guys never cease to amaze me. Can't we just congratulate the guy on his new truck? The 6.0L has made this group so defensive that when someone comes on here to post they got a new truck, all the responses seem to try and discredit all the other brands so that the 6.0L history doesn't seem so bad. From his first post, he really didn't say anything negative about his Ford truck. Instead, he said he'd miss it.
Parcours, thanks for the advice. Based on what you said (and I'm pretty sure you researched your facts 110%) I think I'm gonna go to the Ford dealership tomorrow and get rid of my POS Dodge. Matter of fact, I better not wait till tomorrow. I think I'm gonna go now.....(sound of feet running out the door)

Oh, and since there is a natural counterbalance to every force (kinda like Ying & Yang), since creeper made a post in this thread, I expect to see a post from SuperF350 explaining that there are no bad Fords, only bad owners. These two counter balance each other nicely, the extreme anti-Ford guy with the extreme loyal Ford guy
(sounds of feet running back out the door).....

The first 6 have proven to be less problematic that the GM or Ford. Number 7 was only in 98-99 models...you're only 6 or 7 years behind. Not bad. Keep up the good work.

SoonerStroker04, valid question so I will explain. I not only post on a Ford website, but I also post on Chevy/GMC websites as well (and of course Dodge sites). See, I like to know how ALL brands are performing, not just mind. Of course, I could just stay on the Dodge websites and be ignorant to what Ford and Chevy are doing. However I choose not to. I choose to keep myself informed of how my truck is performing relative to others. Its not about ego, its about paying alot of money (at least to me) for a vehicle and wanting to know that I got my money's worth.
I find that all to often truck owners like to only keep up with their truck's brand, and congratulate and pat each other on the back for buying brand X truck. Plus, I find that said truck owners like bash other truck brands based on problems that they think are still happening, but in reality stopped 5+ years ago. However, said truck owners don't know anybetter because they don't take the time to keep up with other brands. Its simply much easier to keep propogating mis-information than to really see if they are fixed.
So I choose to keep myself informed, and not blind to what is really going on. If someone says that a Ford, Dodge or Chevy is crap, then I want to know why, backed up by facts. I live in a family of Ford diesel trucks. I want to be able to carry on intelligent conversations with them, so I chose to get familiar with their trucks. That's how I found this site. I keep visiting it, because I'm fascinated by diesel trucks, not just Dodge diesel trucks. I guess everybody doesn't share my enthusiasm.
