I just bought a new 05 F250 CC 6.0. I really like this truck. Something seems th have changed after the truck had 300 miles on it. The motor is quieter at initial start up than it was and also seems to idle a little quieter. The load cackle that was there at initial start up now seems to be gone. It also seems like the throttle response is not as good as it was. Higher speed power seems the same but not as responsive on the bottom end.
Is this something normal or something in the computer that changes after a preset time. Is the something I can look for or do I need to get it to the dealer?
Thanks

This sounds like some type of EGR problem. I'd suggest if it continues that you take it to the dealer. The EGR systems on these trucks are well known to be, . . . - flakey.

I had exactly the same experience with my '05 f350 that I purchased at the end of '04. I think it has gone away, but it is getting warmer in the mornings now, and these trucks are loud when it is really cold. I started running Stanadyne in my fuel full time too. I also brought it in, and the service manager just kind of dismissed me....... This is my first diesel so I'm still trying to figure out what is normal vs non-normal. I now have 5K miles, and that problem seems to have gone away.
The other thing I've learned is that there are alot fewer diesel techs at the dealerships than what they have on staff to fix the gassers. so bringing in your rig for 'minor' stuff is painful, because there does not appear to be such a things as in/out service the same day...... A simple turbo drone analysis was going to turn into a 3 day event, I told the service writer that I'll just live with it for now......
Did you fill it up for the first time with diffeent fuel than what was in it? If it had a winter blend, it would be much loude. But power should be better with good fuel.

This was before my first fill up. What is weird is that yes the temp has gotten warmer (which is what the dealer just told me) but when I test drove the truck it was pretty nice out. I think that I am going to drive it for a while and see what happens to the power and fuel economy. Maybe I am just going nuts. I love the truck and want it to be as awesome as it was when I picked it up 2 weeks ago. Hopefully it is the weather and the engine adjusting to it.
Thanks,
