Starting Easier and Why?

My truck 2005 F250 seems to start easier when it is colder in the mornings. This morning it was 15 F. I turn the key and let everything cycle and then start. It lights right up. In the summertime when the mornings are warmer - it seems to take a few a little bit extra to start. I still let it cycle and everything in the summer as well. Nothing different is done.

Re: Starting Easier and Why?

My '06 seems to do the same thing. I really don't know why, but thought it might have something to do with the oil since the injectors are dependent on oil pressure, or so I have read. At least you are not alone.. It may just be the nature of the beast..Bob <><

Re: Starting Easier and Why?

ICP has to be at a certain minimum pressure before fueling is enabled. When the oil is thick, it hits that pressure faster (assuming everything is primed).

Where the engine stops can also affect the next start, a little bit - depending on where the cam pin is in relation to the sensor.

Re: Starting Easier and Why?

The same happens for me. Best guess, cold temp strategy programming has something to do with it. More fuel maybe...
