Good luck with it, and let us know what the verdict is.

I'd agree... take it in... if your '97 pulled the $hit out of your '05, something doesn't seem right. I had a '97, then an '05, and now I'm on an '04. The '97 had nothing on my 6.0's... absolutely no comparison. My '04 does build more boost than my '05 did, but not my much. I can see a little over 26lbs with my foot in it... and towing my boat last weekend, I saw just at 27 with my Edge set to setting '1'... which probably isn't impacting it too greatly if any.

Let us know what you find out... good luck!

Now My stock 05 6.0 turbo acts like a non VNT wastgated turbo. I will read about 5psi around town and on the highway unloaded, at WOT it will slowly build boost as the gears load the motor to about 20psi. With a 10k pound trailer i only see about 10psi cruising at 60mph in 4th and have to beat the hell out of it to get boost up around 22psi. Still trying to figure out if the vanes are stuck or if this is normal. Truck never smokes and EGR is clean.
My 05 6.0 is A LOT faster than either of the 7.3 I've owned. I see 20 psi ALL THE TIME and see 30 psi under load. My turbo builds boost quickly. My truck is stock except for a 4" MBRP turbo back exhaust system.

I can't wait to get gauges for our truck. I had Isspro's on my '05 Dodge and loved em; they looked factory.

Steve, nice Airstream. We have a fully restored 1971 Sovereign.

Stock 05 truck. No exhaust. No programming. 0-29 psi everyday. Note: That's estimated based on the Ford boost gauge. Lots of power everywhere except taking off from a light like most turbo's.

Normal cruise without a load, 10 psi. Moderate acceleration. 20 psi Hard: 22-29 psi.

You know the trubo is there. Even better at high way speeds where you need to pass and the truck doesn't bother kicking down a gear. Just the thrust of max. boost puts a smile on your face.

So here is the update. I made the appointment for the truck at Fred Beans and was very unhappy with the punk behind the counter, I was explaining the problems i was having and he wrote nothing down. He just said they would look at it. So after that i was talking to an old friend about his 6.0 van and he was complaining about how bad the service he was getting at all the dealers around here. He then said Haldaman (sp) treated him great and they have 10 full time diesel mechanics, constant communication about his van and didn't just fix the problems he was having but preformed other TSBs that would have caused him problems probably after his warranty ran out. So anyways the truck never made it to Fred Beans and i now at Haldamans. Dropped the truck off last night and 9:00 am today i get a phone call that it the vanes in the turbo that are stuck, there was a soft code in the computer. They are also fixing all the other little things i found wrong with the truck, including a belt squeal when cold. Said i should have the truck back today. I'm very happy so far, its amazing the differences in dealerships

Glad to hear you found a reputable dealer who is taking care of you. They seem to be few and far between these days.
