Why do we modify anything we own because we can of course .I have a wife and two small children and I need the abiltiy to hall the whole family, and all the toys, so my truck gives me the best of both worlds. Besides with all my other hobbies I don't have time for a full time hot rod, and a car won't hall my trailer, quads, or boat.

It's just not "a little bit more performance"
It's enough power to absolutely rip the tires off the truck, and throw your passengers into the back seat when not prepared for it.
It's enough power to not just "easily pull" your trailer, but to pass everything else on the way UP the hill.
It's enough power to not need to downshift to pass someone...just roll on the throttle, and build enough boost an power to pass them like they are litterly standing still.
It's enough power to warrant the use of 4wd, because anything less used in a race just seems to spin...and spin...and spin...
It's what it takes to put the biggest grin on your face you will ever have....makin people wonder what the hell is so funny, and then ask them if they want to go for a ride...
Have I missed anything???
I agree. I had my '05 loaded to the hilt with some heavy firewood, pulling a bobcat. I had a friend behind me with an '00 Dodge Cummins and about 3/4 load of wood. I walked off and LEFT him. Gobs of power on this truck. I might chip it some time, but I have other things that need done first. I'm not too nuts about the idea of having to pay for exhaust, intake, and gages to make this thing right to go that fast. I'll keep it stock until I know it's reliable, at the very least.

I used the Predator because I could. I quit using it because
there are too many things going wrong with this make engine.
I don't have the deep pockets some of you guys have to take
that chance of a engine and tranny "melt down". It was fun while
it lasted, but my truck is running too "dawg gone" good to take
that chance. I am getting nearly 17 mpg combined driving using PS Centane Boost with winter fuel and it tows my 8000 lb TT up 6%
grades with no problem. No leaks, no pukes, no problems, and I
want to keep it that way. If it Ain't broke, don't fix it.
A stock and 03

I say leave it stock. It's typical with anything mechanical, some want to tinker with it so they can be better then neighbor Joe and so on. It's all I'm better then you are thing here. When people first went to the diesel from the gas engine, things couldn't be better, then a new diesel came out and everyone jumped onto that wagon and so on. Now they here someone offers 3 hp and 1 ft-lb of torque for $300 and they can't get their wallet out fast enough. It's just a never ending cycle IMO. Same goes for Snowmobiles and whatever else in the recreational world. Funniest thing though, most people with the mods are the ones with the most complaints or lets say issues all the time. Think is just coiencdence, I don't!

You should be thanking us people with our wallets hanging open. If everyone was happy with the way things were or didn't fix it when it wasn't broken, then civilization would be years behind what it is. Every product you use on a daily basis was made better because someone wasn't happy with the way something worked or thought of a better way of doing it. Including the house you live in, the clothes on your back, and yes that truck you enjoy so much.

Could not have said it any better!
Its nice to be able to "better your neighbor" and all. But i simply love the acceleration. I also like to be able to out run the 6.0l's .

Well IMO the question will be answered in time.Ask Tony Underwood about fixing his new truck that Ford MoCo. wont warranty because he had a programmer on it.I think he said it was $4800.00 for new heads and turbo because the programmer made it puke till it broke.I know I don't have that kind of money to fix my 40k truck because I need programmer to make me feel better about my truck.
Lets archive this post for 3 years 36k and see how everybody feels about it then.Should be pretty interesting

Now I'm just curious here: will that "biggest grin.." still be on your face while you're writing out the $16,000+/- check for a new engine/trans???
If mine goes south, I'll be having one of them biggest grins when I pick up my truck from the dealer and FORD has written out the check...
JMHO..
