The Truck is a 2004 F250 Power stroke w/ 35,000 miles. I do not have any mods on the truck.
I got a code from code reader. The code was p0299, T/ Super charger under-boost. Also got a p0603 code, ctrl mod kam error. The truck seems to be running fine, but I have noticed that the truck will about once a week sputter and blow white smoke for no more than 20 seconds. Also intermittently when decelerating at 15 mph it sounds like a shuttering sound in the turbo?
does not reset anything,you maybe having the starting of an EGR problem.Do you cruise around or "baby" the truck?
If you do you need to take it out and run it hard to clear out the egr and vgt vanes of soot. This has fixed a number of problems.
As for the 603,you may have a pcm problem(doubt it). The 299 can be caused by a split second glitch,it will set a continuous code but not a hard fault to set the light,when an EGR sticks it will cause a low boost code,as can other things.

What is a EGR problem? I drive it fast, but also baby it a lot more than run it hard. I am trying to make this truck last. How do I run it hard? High speed highway, quick starts off the line? Tow something heavy, what should I do? Should I get a superchip and use that to run it hard?

You may be having an EBP issue. Mine threw P0299 when I was. Ever notice it sounding like it's "cycling" while cruise steady? Going quiet, loud while cruising steady or idling?

Mine threw that code when the EBP sensor failed. You're still under warrantee...

Get a RV trailer or toy hauler (about 10k#) & take it out for a 500 - 600 mile round trip. [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggrin.gif[/img]
Or, get it on the highway, try & find some hills, and get the rpms up about 3200 & sustain that for 15 mins, rest for about 15 & do it again. Drive it like that for about an hour a month

that still won't solve the low voltage reading on the EBP sensor that he has.
He needs a new EBP sensor. They dealer will probably change the EGR valv e at the same time, but it's probably not bad. lol [img]/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif[/img]

Every time I take my truck on the freeway for more than an hour of straight cruising, my turbo acts funny. Last time, I got off of the freeway after an hour of driving and while sitting at a red light, my turbo was turning on and off. All of the sudden it would get real loud, then normal again. Anyone know whay this is, it doesn't throw codes.
