Surging when using tow/haul

My truck seems to run fine, but once i put it in tow/haul and hook up to a trailer it surges really bad. It does it in the 2100-2400 rpm range most noticeably, usually right before it is about to shift to the next gear. Anyone else had this problem, i have had it to the dealer 3-4 times now complaining it, so finally i took it in the other day when i had my gooseneck on and a big load and made him ride with me with his computer plugged into the truck. The truck goes in on Tues. to get him to look at it, however he said he has fixed alot of 6.0's but never one with this problem. I need some reccomendations before i take it in, hoping someone on here has had this problem and knows what the fix is, it was also reflashed with the latest/greatest about a little over a month ago. Thanks for your help

Re: Surging when using tow/haul

http://www.intellidog.com/dieselmann/60bulletin.htm book mark this site for future reference. The first bulletin covers you situation exactly. Take a print out of this with you to the dealer, but beware - this will change your tow/haul, so you might want to ask here or in the towing forum about the change before you do, or ask the dealer if they are willing to program back if you don't like it.

Re: Surging when using tow/haul

I have noticed it also. I brought it up to my service man, they went through everything and said it was fine. I now tow with the tow/haul off. My wife had a hydro-plaining accident with a horse trailer and that surge scares her to death on wet roads. Keep us posted on what you find out.
