I have had a problem that only occurs when pulling mt. passes. I pull a 5er weight about 12,500 lbs. This last time it was a dead pedal and turbo boost fell to 0, it shot back up to 30 lbs. and then back to 0. It did this twice on this pull and then ran fine for another 750 miles. The next time pulling a pass it would not run over 2750 rpm. It would fall to 2500 rpm and run up to 2750 and back to 2500 rpm. The truck has also blown a hole in the plastic turbo hose in the past also pulling a hill. The truck is an 05 F-350 torqueshift 6.0 Any ideas? The only problems with the truck have been on hard pulls, by the way it has 20K on it.
The truck has 20k on it. I have not had it in to see if it left any codes but I have talked to service and they want to repeat the problem. I don't know how you could do that because it is so intermediate. Most of the time it runs like a scalded cat.
The linkage that moves the unison ring can "wallow out". When that happens, it can stick - sometimes erratically. Take it in and take a tech for a ride. If it dows not act up, have them put a recorder in it. Tell them you are afraid of having an accident. You need to get it fixed - and it is covered under warranty (for $100 deductible).
