Threaded plug on top of HPOP

What is that plug for? Do you remove that and fill the pump with oil after having pulled the pump to help the start/crank time?

The STC fitting update kit includes a new one plug, just wondering

Yeah, I wonder if that would have decreased the crank time. After being disassembled for a few days the truck took a minute to fire up and I was in the cab getting nervous. I’m sure everyone can relate.

It's called "pucker time"!!!
It took way too long for my truck to restart after I replaced the HPOP. I just kept the faith and was glad I charged the batteries during the work.
