Throttle position sensor and Cruise Control Issues

i recently have been having problems with my throttle position sensor. i would occasionally get the codes P2138 and P2140 which are related to the TPS. if i didn't clear the codes with my tuner, it would eventually result in throttle failure (truck drops to idle with no response). After lots of reading, decided that i needed a new TPS. Replaced the TPS and still get the codes when i try to use my cruise control. The cruise control has not been working for some time now, and i assumed it was because i needed a new TPS. However, it seems to be just the opposite now. New TPS, but still no cruise control and throws codes as soon as i touch the cruise button. Is the cruise control the cause of my issues? any input is greatly appreciated.

ok, let me rephrase the question. I took my truck into the dealership because I was getting codes P2138 and P2140 and occasionally the throttle would die. They did their awesome $150 diagnostics and confirmed that it was the TPS that needed replaced. I paid the $300 for that and it seems to have fixed the problem until I use the cruise control button. As soon as i touch that button, and seemingly only when I use the cruise control I immediately get the P2138 and P2140 codes. If the TPS is brand new, what else would cause those codes? Those codes are related to differences in voltage within the TPS, how is that cruise control related?
