Is it just me or did the torque shift get de-tuned. I had the truck reflashed in Dec to take care of cruise control problem. First pull with the trailer and it does not seem to lock up as much when slowing down.

My guess is that too many complained about the harsh down shifts with the torqshift.

Flip back a year or so and you'll see that even people here complained about "harsh" downshifts. It'd be nice to have a choice... hey Ford, you guys listening? I too miss the old torqshift
O
I'd like a little more back, but I don't/didn't like the 2-1 downshift - it was overkill and too harsh. I would like the TC locked for the other D/S's but it's a good compromise and overall, T/H works good for slowing it down which is primarily what I use it for.

I think it's obvious: Ford AINT listening, and they don't care about
the owners of this engine class...
Otherwise they would TELL US what their magical reflashes will do to our trucks PRIOR to doing them and ask if we were willing to ALLOW THEM TO CHANGE THE PERFORMANCE of our 40K - 50K trucks....
just my .02 worth

My Tech said the softening of the transmission was due to what he referred to as "Grocery Baggers" complaining too much about the harsh shifting while in Tow/Haul Mode with no load. He said alot of people use the tow/haul mode for around town driving.

For me early on, in t/h mode towing, last downshift made my tires complain After a few tow trips, it stopped doing that. Wierd. Still all OEM (no reflash). Loaded only 8K#, heavier don't know.
Anyhow mine loaded/unloaded, t/h mode works great. Last dshift still grabs my attention, but tires not complaining. Point is, I can use mine both ways. I mainly use it towing, but even solo, that compression brakeing works good.
One of the reasons their called "snowflakes"
OT
btw...If mine had continued harsh/tire squealing d.shift I would have taken in. Anyhow, for some that seemed to be big complaint early own. Of course FMC fixed that, right?
I personally like the new T/H alot better. I think this is another one of those things where it is not the same on all trucks. The performance of the 6.0 does not appear to be consistent from truck to truck. There seems to be alot of variation.
