First of all, Thank You for allowing me to register. I have been a long time fan of this website. You have helped me several times. Researching these trouble codes have not given me any clues that they could be related, so here I am. I have already ordered a new ICP sensor & harness. Will pick up on my way to work. Could the 2263 be related? Which problem would attack first? I have noticed some surging and engine noise going from the 6.0 clack to a quieting, as discribed in several other posts about the 2263. The ICP code was first MIL. I preformed the oil & filter change due. Then got thee 2263 code the next day. Thinking it may have been the oil change that set the code I cleared them and the came back.
Wow, what a coincidence. I just took my 2003 Excursion in for the same exact codes/problems on Monday. The tech replaced my ICP sensor and harness and the other problem was due to a cracked exhaust Y-pipe.
My X bucked, surged, stalled, and lacked power in general. I got my old truck back now and I'm a happy camper--runs like a raped ape.

OK so here is a new bump in the road. I went to the dealer for the ICP sensor. He was being vary helpful. He went back to talk to a tech. Tech told him that replacing the ICP sensor would not solve the problem, that I had an internal oil leak. I do not know what gives the tech that ideal. He only knows that I had a P2285 code.

Find another dealership. It gets expensive QUICK when you get someone that will not troubleshoot and, instead, just replace EXPENSIVE parts.

I agree 110%.
While I don't think the ICP is going to fix the P2263 code, that IS the fix for the P2285. If that tech doesn't even know that, I would not want him working on my truck.......

I replaced the ICP Sensor and wiring harness that connects to it. Cleared the codes. Drove through a cycle. No more codes as of yet. Cross my fingers and knock on wood. I think it is a done Deal. Thank You all for your comments It is great to have this tool to help. I mean this website as being a tool. Thank You.
Anyone have a good source for ICP sensors; I've got a 2285 code.
Ford dealership or ebay.

Depends on the year.. On a late 04 or later, they are a snap. It's on the passenger side valve cover, below the alternator. Unplug the connector, put a socket on it and take it out just like a spark plug. On the 03's and 04's prior to 09/29/03, it is a bit more involved.

Thanks, found one at the dealer for $140 and will be replacing it tomorrow.
Also, what's so special about the Craftsman socket people are talking about? Wouldn't any deep 1 1/16" socket work as long as it's cut down? Sears is clear on the other side of town and if I can pick one up within a mile I'd rather do that.
