Tranny?

I hooked up the camper today and I drove 15 miles just like always....no problem whatsoever. I hit the next LITTLE incline and it downshifts into 4th gear....but I have no power. It hits 2500rpm's and starts to pull, but it drops to 2100 and has no power. The tranny will downshift into 3rd, but it still has no power. I let off the gas and let it idle down the road for a bit and the power came back for a minute. I get off the highway and it started again. I have no idea what to think. All fluids are good, no codes, runs great through the first 3 gears. When it hits 4th gear it falls on its face. Please help!!!!

Could be a plugged fuel filter.

The thing I don't understand is that it runs GREAT through the first 3 gears....when I hit fourth gear it revs up to 2500 rpm's and then drops down to 2100 rpm's. It builds power, but when it drops the rpm's it falls on its face. The tranny will still downshift, but it has no power. I just hope its not the tranny.

the higher the gear the more load on the engine meaning more torque is needed. More torque means more fuel. If the filters are dirty it could run good at lower gears and start starving as the power requirement increases.

Well, we are on to something thinking fuel. The truck has a hard time ideling now..... I just repaced both filters about 5000 miles ago. I did replace the o-ring on the top filter and it did help things. It had better top end power, but now it doesn't idle right. Sounds like its missing. I am lost on this one.

You have a fuel flow issue and all you did is replace an o-ring? What about the fuel filter? That's most likely where your problem is.

Just replaced the fuel filters too and still the same thing. Just dropped it off for someone else to look at.
