Trans removal.

I am gonna start pulling my transfer case and 5r110 tomorrow. I have the shop manuals so that info has been read. I was looking for pointers on doing it backyard style. The truck has a 6" lift and 35's. On cars I normally just use a jack and balance the trans one man style. But this thing is too much to do like that.

Thanks in advance,
Darrell

lol
I build a cradle for the transfer case and transmission. So far everything is going well for doing it solo. The transfer case was a little stuck to the trans but nothing bad. Getting ready to pull converter bolts and bell housing bolts and lower this baby down.

But I have a question already looked at it and did not see an easy way to rotate the motor manually to get to all the bolts. Anyone have an answer?

I use a large ratchet on the front of the crank. It's not that hard to turn the engine over that way while watching for the torque converter nuts.

that is what is would normally do but the crank is blocked by other things. I ended up just reconnecting the battery and bumping it over then getting under to check it.. got one left but it started pouring.
