Transmission Jerking

My 04 F450 (15,000 m) has recently began to jerk/jump when first put into gear in either forward or reverse. If you give it gas when first taken out of Park it will really jump when the gear takes hold; even with my foot off the gas it still surges some. After the initial surge or jerk it runs fine until you go from forward to reverse and then the same thing occurs. Does this sound like the transmission is going?

Thanks,

MH

Re: Transmission Jerking

I vaguely recall a TSB for your symptoms. IIRC, it called for a new EPC solenoid but I can't remember which vehicles were affected.

OTOH, if something is going south in the trans, the EPC is one of the first places that gets affected. I would suggest a trip to the dealer to ensure that you aren't walking when you don't want to....
