Truck still Buzzes

Took in my 2005 F250 for it's 35000 mile checkup and asked about getting the latest inductive flash. They said if there is no obvious problems, they will leave it with the current "why is your truck making that buzzing noise after you shut it off" flash. Is there any reason to pay to go to the inductive flash or should I leave it as is? Does going to the inductive flash give me any advantages?
Thanks

Re: Truck still Buzzes

My dealer told me the same thing. They wouldn't upgrade me either to the newest flash unless I have issues. Still Buzzing.........

Re: Truck still Buzzes

Go in and complain about hard starting, rough running, no power in the morning. I have heard guys saying this and it works. Im just going to pay the $70 bucks and have it done.

Re: Truck still Buzzes

Basically they can not upsell warranty repairs. A recallibration is usually billed as one hour shop rate, or as part of the diagnostic proceedure for a running concern.

Now, if your truck has a concern, and its over the 3/36, there is a $100 deductible on the 5/100 portion. So, if shop rate is at or under $100, it'll cost you for the recall anyway.

Re: Truck still Buzzes

Curious..

Q..Did you have a cold start or other running issue that was corrected with (f.i.buzz) reflash? I'm assuming you did & it corrected you issue. So, why reflash..

If it's just the noise you don't like (no running/start issue) then as mentioned, I also think it'll cost you to reflash. So any advantage is no noise after KO, right? Just a guess.

FWIW..Last I read, ITEC still using f.i. buzz after shutdown & not the 2nd updated heating f.i. I never had a real cold start (not counting early on romp's) problem, but got 1st one along with a reflash for other problem's. Still, can't help but wonder what does heating coil's do to life of f.i.? Even the buzzing. Did mfg. know their f.i. were going to get really twiked (so to speak) later on? I'm thinking no. Maybe make's no diff. but time will tell.

btw..like c.rich sang..who know's what goes on behind closed doors?
