My truck was stolen from a mall parking lot between 5pm and 7pm (still daylight!) while I was in a restraunt eating dinner. Thats what I get for living in Tucson, AZ only 45 minutes from the border!
So I am going to need to get a new one because Im sure mine is in Mexico by now hauling knows what.
So I am looking at used 2006s and the 2007 but I am wondering if I should even bother with the 6.0L and just wait for the new engine in 2008. How much better does everybody think the new engine will be? What about the new, dare I say, Duramax? It sounds pretty bad on paper! Any thoughts? Man that sucks! Sorry to hear about your truck. If I were you, I would get an 07. I wouldn't want to wait for the 08, and then be a guinea pig for Ford. Just my opinion, good luck with whatever you choose to do.

sorry about your truck, I trust it was insured, but if I need a truck right now I'd buy the 07 6.0l, although I wouldn't be afraid of the new 6.4, cause I think ford is going to make dang sure it's right, just my .02

I feel like driving my 05 in a lake after the dealer tech cut my harness! But looking at the options I would probably buy another FORD. Cummins is getting an EGR next year I bet they will have problems too. The Duramax is a good engine and Allison is a sweet 6 speed auto. But the GM trucks look ugly and start rattling quickly. I also hate the independant front 4wd system. I bought Ford for the solid axles.

Sorry to hear about your truck! I had my 2005 stolen and the thieves did me a favor taking that POS. I was VERY reluctant to buy another Ford and end up with another POS but I have to admitt that with 19K miles on my 2006 and 10K of that is with my 5th wheel behind it, I'm very happy with the performance. I've had no problems and the truck seems to run better every day. I'm not real pleased with the MPG but at least it's been dependable and it's got the power to pass the slow vehicles and pull my RV up hills unlike my 2005! Good luck with your insurance company and your hunt for a different truck, what ever brand it my be!

If I had to guess what your truck was being used for...
It's probably in the possessino of a coyote, with a dozen or so illegals in the bed of your truck being ferried across the border- with your tags.
We'll probably see it on the minute man web cam flying back and forth.
They like the superduties because they can hold a lot of weight.
I wouldn't want it back after this. Hopefully you will get paid well by your insurance company.
anyway 0% finacing for 06 superdutys in MD. I agree with the other poster don't be the guiney pig for the 08 6.4 that the dealer will most likely give no discounts on.

I would just have it fixed at another dealer and send the offending dealer the bill with an explination as to why they lost your business for good.

Sorry about your truck. I live 20 minutes from the border and since my truck is too tall to fit in the garage, I have to worry about it getting stolen also. Hope your insurance takes care of you.
