Re: Truck Stolen!!!!

I wish some one would steal my truck, because I would replace it with the exact same truck except with power windows and power door locks.

Just kidding good luck with getting situation resolved.

Re: Truck Stolen!!!!

The 07's should be the best 6.0's. Chevy would be my next move, their 07 duramax's are putting up nicccce #'s. Next would be dodge, I just simply can't get into their cab/bed styles and cheap looks. THe motor however would be my favorite.

Re: Truck Stolen!!!!

I had my '01 stolen last oct (with only 40K on it!). Picked up a '06 and had Lojack installed. I go to CaNaDa quite often and I asked the question if boarders make a difference, they said it would work all over the globe.......
Good luck..........

Re: Truck Stolen!!!!

I was told by the cop who took the report when my truck was stolen that lojack used radio waves not g.p.s. He said they recover most of the trucks with g.p.s. I had nothing on mine, No recovery

Re: Truck Stolen!!!!

[ QUOTE ]
My truck was stolen from a mall parking lot between 5pm and 7pm (still daylight!) while I was in a restraunt eating dinner. Thats what I get for living in Tucson, AZ only 45 minutes from the border!

So I am going to need to get a new one because Im sure mine is in Mexico by now hauling knows what.

So I am looking at used 2006s and the 2007 but I am wondering if I should even bother with the 6.0L and just wait for the new engine in 2008. How much better does everybody think the new engine will be? What about the new, dare I say, Duramax? It sounds pretty bad on paper! Any thoughts? [/ QUOTE ]

I feel your pain brother...believe me. I'm looking at 07's myself

BTW...Lojack is going to do you no good if the truck is accross the border.

Re: Truck Stolen!!!!

I'm getting freaked out by the # of PSD owners that are experiencing this awful thing.

I can't believe somebody would steal a lifted superduty with like 40's... lol seriously... wow. Not like it sticks out like a soar thumb or anything.

Re: Truck Stolen!!!!

LoJack is NOT a satellite system. It is a radio transmitter. Local police MUST have LoJack receivers to make the system work. Police cars and helicopters with LoJack receivers have four small antennae.

From LoJack's website:

"The LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System lets specially-equipped police vehicles find your stolen car by tracking a small transmitter hidden inside it. When you file a stolen vehicle report with the police, police computers send a silent wireless signal to your car, automatically activating the hidden LoJack transmitter. The LoJack transmitter unit emits a silent unique signal that tells specially-equipped police cars and helicopters exactly where your vehicle is.
LOJACK WORKS!"

The base model is activated by the police AFTER YOU FILE A REPORT.

Re: Truck Stolen!!!!

Took the words right out of my mouth Stan.

I live in a bad part of the city, so I prepared for it. Satalitte tracking, Viper alarm, and Every night I turn the wheels into the curb and set it to 4LOW.

I feel your pain. Back when I was a young'in , I drove a mini-van and It absolutely felt like a blow in the stomach when you come out and see its not there in the morning. I couldn't believe it at the time, and looking back I still kinda can't. It all becomes real when you see it in a impound lot.... or cops .

Sorry bout your truck and If I was you, I'd get an '07 It will probably be the most reliable out of all the 6.0s

Re: Truck Stolen!!!!

Do not get the 6.0!!!!! do your research on the problems with the motor
it is a 50/50 shot of getting a 6.0 that does not give you problems!

A guy I just bought a trailer from has a new Ford 6.0 because his 2006 Duramax blew the engine after he had a new rear put in the truck and after he had all of the injectors replaced twice so I'm not sure you can be "guaranteed" of getting a quality vehicle regardless of manufacturer.

Re: Truck Stolen!!!!

Sorry for your loss

And there it is yous pays yer money and yous takes yer chances. It is this way in life.

As for my so call "POS" 6'0L one of the finest snow flakes to come out of the Kentucky plant. No drips, hangs, stains, hiccups, or stumbles. Just awesome power and silly grins.

Only complaints are I wish the next button for the radio on the steering wheel worked for the programed stations instead of the next station found. I wish the recirculation for the heat and AC would stay on and not need to be re pressed after shut down.

Oh the unbearable pain and anguish of it all. Ford just makes me live with such agony.

NOT

Re: Truck Stolen!!!!

sorry to hear about your truck.. but I'm curious how these guys are using these trucks when they take them.. Is it people that have already come across the border and they just want transportation around? Are they using them to go across the actual border crossing to bring illegals back? Or are they just baja stylin right thru the desert across borders? Makes me wonder sometimes

I have no factual evidence of this, but appears to me that in my area I see s lot of newer SD crewcab trucks pulling trailers full of zero turn mowers.

There must be big money in mowing grass.
