Re: Truck Stolen!!!!

Add my 05 to the growing list of stolen trucks. It was right out of my driveway with me & family sleeping in the 5vr (MAJOR renovation project)just 30' away.

By the time the police filed the report it was probably in Mexico. Although the local dealership recovered two that had been stolen off the lot after two weeks. They were on a car transport going across the border. But I don't want mine back. I am 1/2 way to the payoff date so keep your fingers crossed for me.

I loved my 05. It had so much more power than my 02. My wife is even better. Since we are putting a pitched roof on our flat roof house, she said we should just extend the garage and put a bigger door on it. Most guys would jump on that but I had to think about it (engineer blood).

I am going to get an 07 but I may want to try a dually this time. Fuel is already up there so I need to drive a beater to work with good mpg. I ordered both of my other trucks but I will check to see what is coming in as I do not want to wait 6-8 weeks. I will have a variety of anti theft devices on the new one. I know if they want it bad enough they will get it but I am going to make em work for it!

My list goes like this, truck club, alarm, fuel pump shut off, S&W 357, thermonuclear device...

Re: Truck Stolen!!!!

I've been thinking about Lojacl also. They have a new option, I think it is called Early Warning. If the vehicle is started and moved and the pocket sensor is not in the vicinity of the vehicle, it sends the owner a page, email and text message. It just might be worth looking into.

Re: Truck Stolen!!!!

Don't give car thieves the opportunity.. Lock your doors, get an alarm (with starter kill) and a club (doesn't hurt to slow them down). Slowing the thieves down for a few sconds might make the difference. Keep it parked in a well lit area at night. Get whatever it takes (within your abilites and reasonable) to lessen the chance of the vehicle being stolen. Especially if you are in a high risk area.

Don't give those creeps the chance.

Re: Truck Stolen!!!!

Roger 007, what you said about the club was kind of funny. A while ago after a Jays game, a bunch of us grabbed a bite and a brew. Around 11:30 my buddy got to his 04 SC and some dumb a&# tried to jack his truck, threatening him with "the club". The poor schmuuck just had to try and heist the truck of a hand to hand defense instructor, for the local PD. So yeah, get the club, it worked for Larry when he dented the losers forehead.
