Turbo Boost Fluctuation

When my truck is cold, my boost gauge jumps from 10 lbs to 12 lbs back and forth while holding the accelerator steady. I can hear the turbo surging at this time. It takes about two miles before smoothing out. Anyone know what may cause this? It is only when cold.

Re: Turbo Boost Fluctuation

I would guess it is your oil. What oil are you using?? You may want to try a synthetic oil to see how it runs when it is cold. I had the romps when cold and I changed to a syn oil and that cured it.

Re: Turbo Boost Fluctuation

Mine does it when it is warm also, I hear it is the exhaust back pressure sensor. My egr plug is "broken" but it did not help any. I have yet to replace the ebp sensor, because I hear there is a updated one and I dont know the part number.
