Turbo to intercooler pipe oil leak

I have a small amount of oil that collects on the bottom of the joints in the pipe from the turbo to the intercooler. I noticed a little oily dirt on the blue rubber hose joints and felt underneith where I found it oily. It is on both the rubber hoses (one up near the turbo and the other near the intercooler). This is an 04 with about 11k miles on it. It does not appear to be burning oil or even dripping. Just oil wet. Any help--is this normal? Any simialr problems out there?

Re: Turbo to intercooler pipe oil leak

Welcome!

Probably most do, mine does. Try tightening clamps. Is it normal, compared to what? I don't think it should be leaking/seeping at joints, but it does. I don't have answer, but betcha someone is working on it. JMO!

Good luck...OT

btw...make a sig. on your ride.

According to the F??d diesel suppliment, no, perfectly normal.

Some say the oil is good in there to keep rust from forming...

Frankly, what's going to rust? I don't understand it, but when I cleaned my 7.3 cooler way back when I added a Racor CCV it was pretty darn convincing that it has to effect the cooling efficiency.

I hear that Racor has a CCV for the 6.0L now?
