Turbo on at low speed

The turbo on my 2004 F-250 now kicks on at even low speeds when trying to accelerate or even stay at speed. This is pretty new but doesn't affect performance or mileage. Is this a problem that needs attention?

Turbo

You should hear your turbos whistle pretty much every time you step on the throttle. The exhaust operates your turbo charger, there should not be any boost psi at all at idle or at a coast while moving. Are you seeing any boost at idle??

Turbo

No boost at idle. Only when foot on accelerator.

Root..when u say "t. now kicks on/pretty new" what are you comparing too? As mentioned..t. is exhaust driven (assuming alls ok) pushing down on acc. cause's t. to start making boost.

What did it do before? The turbo is exhaust driven, meaning that if the engine is on, than the turbo is on.

Turbo

For the first 90,000 miles you would only hear the turbo whistle/whine at highway speeds or if accelerating fast. Now you can hear it at virtually any speed. This only began after the dealer replaced the turbo at the end of the 5 year warranty.

If your truck is running fine, don't worry about it.
