Twice now while towing, I have had my turbo shut off on me. Both times happened when boost was around 28 psi. My edge computer gave me a code stating "turbo Overboost condition". I took it to dealer and they said they could not figure it out so they reset the computer. About 2 months after this it happened again. Any ideas? Was I pushing it too hard at 28psi or does it sound like something else might be going on....thanks in advance for any advice.

Well when pulling my 14k 5er i never hit 28lbs of boost try and keep it around 25lbs and i run Ford cetane boost in my fuel to help keep the turbo and egr valve clean and once a week i drive it like i stole it.

When I had my oil cooler and egr delete done my guy saw an overboost condition on his first test drive. They took the turbo apart and cleaned it up and everything is ok now. I suppose the unison ring was dirty or rusted at that time.
IIRC..there was a change made to unison ring, but dont recall what it was? 06E17 reflash strategy also included cycling t. vanes at idle/stop to supposedly help to prevent sticking issue. Dont recall if cumulative or a specific reflash?
