Unhappy Turbo went out today

Pulling my travel trailer to the lake today (about 40 Mi) and the CEL came on and my boost went to 0. When ever i turn the truck off the turbo will work fine for 10-15 min. then the boost drops to 0 again. I had NO power coming over the 1 hill back home. Once i got home i plugged my superchips programmer in and the 2 codes that came up were P0299 and P2262 i called the shop and made an appointment for Monday Morning but it sure messed my Vacation up. I was going camping today till monday and was going to Crater Lake Oregon on Thursday for a week, But NOW.... I dont know

Sounds like a bad VGT actuator. If so, simple fix and no need to worry about other problems IMO. Keep us informed.

Turbo will need to come apart and be cleaned. The unison ring is stuck to the center housing of turbo. If it has not had center housing replaced yet, there is a "revised" part that should be installed. The vgt solenoid can be checked with a scan tool by activating it, and watching the valve for movement. It is more probable that the unison ring is sticking though.

New Info: Just got a call from the service manager, they found a small leak in a turbo hose changed it and ran it. Then let it cool all the way down and ran it up a hill and it threw another no boost detected code so they ordered a new sensor should be here this afternoon and once i get it back i will hook up my trailer and see if i can get it to throw a code towing. Better here then on the road to Oreagon.
