Recently as I am putting a load on the engine, not even pulling sometime, I can hear the turbo whistle occilating or changing pitch high/low high/low. It gets reaaly irratating. Is this a cause for alarm, or just the variable pitch turbo fluccutating?

Mine does the same exact thing. I usually only get it when the converter locks in overdrive. Anyother time it is usually smooth and steady. I got the latest flash in the 20's of last month, no effect. I removed and cleaned my egr, reinstalled, then unplugged (for off-road testing only) with no effect. I was hoping the egr might of been sticking open alittle, but that is not the case. I am a little lost here, but I dont really think it hurts anything, just very annoying. I think it is common tho, because I see all kinds of turbo products that claim to stop/decrease "turbo flutter". If anyone knows what the cure is, please fill us in.

Mine (03 - TQ) used to oscillate at constant speed. After back and forths with the dealer they ended up changing the EBP sensor and VGT solonoid - cured the annoying problem.
They replaced the EBP sensor on mine and it went away. The sensor also caused a stumble when you tipped in the throttle lightly, too.

Is there some way to fool the sensor or de-activate it? I have a gutted cat to a straight pipe with a turndown, so I do not have very much backpressure at all. I don't want the computer wigging out trying to compensate for it.
