I was performing my 45,000 mile oil change/fuel filter change/tire rotation today, and while doing my full inspection, I found an oil residue on the driver side of the front section of the engine support. Upon further investigation, I found it to be dripping down there from the power steering pump. check out the photocouldn't get the URL thingy to work)
I'm not sure where the fluid is coming from yet. Either the brass elbow, or that funny hose connection on the bottom of the pump. Is the point where that line is attached to the bolt on the bottom supposed to have any amount of looseness to it? I am able to grasp onto the line, and turn it a little on that fitting. Anyway, I figured I'd let a few of you guys see what I'm talking about, and then it's going to be dropped off at the dealer. Thanks for any input you can provide me with.

Thanks, but I verified that it's power steering fluid, and there was fluid on the bottom of the pump. The link is a copy and paste because I couldn't get the URL tool to work when writing the post.
My ps pump/fitting (not leaking) & frame had oil spots on them. Closer look above w/light, saw cam sensor (in block) & 2 wires oil soaked. Didnt see it leaking at idle, so assume underload is when it dripped? Did inform SA when I took in. Fixed (new one) under warr. & still dry.
If all oil leaks were that easy to find, sure would be alot less hassle/repeated trips to dealer. JMO! Good Luck!
Man, I gotta learn to type faster. Yeah, ps pump/fittings also easy to spot if leaking. Also fluid abit diff. eh!
Well I went ahead and dropped it off at the dealer across the street from where I work. They had it in, and looked at before noon. SA called and said they had to order the line in the picture. $217.00 parts and labor. That's quite a bit, but after toyin around down there for a few minutes, I was already convinced that "I" wasn't fixin it. lol

Mine is going in tommorow for the same fix. This is the 6th time my truck has been in the shop for a BH drip. After looking at the PS fitting leak it looks like fluid is blowing back on top of the lip that the oil pan bolts to, and working its way to the back of the engine and dripping from the BH. I completely washed the lip, and PS fitting with degreaser 2 weeks ago, and havent had any more drip yet.

2 times they actually fixed leaks CAC tubes, and CPS, 2 times they put dye in the oil, 1 times they told me that the leak was just residual oil from the CAC tube leak, and the 6th time is tommorow. It could have been fixed last time but they needed to order the PS fitting. I did think about a buyback, but the truck runs real good, and gets good MPG so I'll keep it. Tommorow though I am going to talk to the owner about getting a free tranny flush, and oil change because of the inconvenience of having to put 1200 miles (200 mile round trip each time)on my truck to try to get it fixed.
I also noticed about a week ago that mine looks like my powersteering is leaking. but it is not low (maybe just a hair) , my cmp looks dry, and the brass fitting has a red looking oil on it ? power steering fluid that color on these units ?
notice that the bottom radiator hose has a few drops on it too. I am worried that will eat into it and make it blow out the hose.. dose the fitting ever leak or the little hose going to it..or is that just the pump when they start to leak ?
will look again tomorrow to make sure. using a mirror this time
also.....does anyone know what it should cost to replace the power steering pump on a 03 6.0 f-350 >?
You type any faster and your posts will look like a foreign language to me!!!
Just an update... Got'er fixed on Monday. Dropped it off in the morning, they had it finished by 2pm. $228.00 *GRRRRR* Turned out to be a power steering pressure line that could not be repaired, had to be replaced. But it's fixed! Maybe I could have fixed it after all. I was investigating from the bottom. According to the W.O. the tech removed the coolant reservoir, and the air filter box, and fixed it from the top.
I certainly could have spent the $170 in labor on something -else- for my truck.
