Question Under Hood 04 Excursion Insulation Question

Question is there insulation (sound, heat, etc) attached to the hood, I did have it on my 7.3L 250 but my 6.0 Excursion has none, but I bought it used. Am I missing something.

Also if you know a ford part # would be great, I have a bodyshop looking now, their system shows it in a picture, but not on the parts list.

Thanks
J

I think they stop installing them from the factory after 03. I had an 04 F250 and my current 07 both didn't come with them. My buddys 03 had it.

You know my 03' 6.0 had it but my 07' does not, and all this time I thought my truck must have been built on a Friday and they just forgot a few parts.

Well thanks, I am inquireing for a wierd reason, I have an excursion, it was normal sounding until I put in a stage 2 AFE Cold Air Intake (open Element and tube) now it whistles (annoyingly not cool like) when running about 55-75mph, I may build a box around the filter to direct the noise in front and funnel air into the box, but I wanted to see if there were any ideas?

Thanks Tons!!

I remember this coming up in '04 when most were not getting the under hood insulation. My '03 has it. Ford stopped installing them in '04.

The sound/heat deadening pad fixxed a lot, sound is so quiet, still a little whistle from the drivers side (intake has no baffles, duh) but I have made a template for a 2/3 wall out of stainless steel that i plan on adding to the AFE mount to direct the soudn forward and funnel the air (RAM AIR??)

Jt
