Upfitter switch wiring locations

Help! Bought a 2006 DRW f-350 and am searching for the locations of the aux wiring locations? I went to where Ford stated in their manual, but the page will not come up. This site is better than any google search........so......who can help?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Upfitter switch wiring locations

You're in luck, just did this yesterday hooking up aux reverse lights.

- Big panel underneath the steering wheel, comes off by pulling the top away, with those huge big handles made just for the purpose

- Power distrubution panel just to the left with 4 10 mm bolts holding them on.

- Take the 4 10 mill bolts off, pull the PD panel down and away, careful, there's live power here, although protected.

- Look up and to the left you should see the following:
4 "pull thru" wires, red, black, white and blue. These go through the firewall and are "blunt cut" just in front of the drivers side firewall in the engine bay. They're 14 ga, use'em for what you want; they are there so you don't have to go through the firewall with your stuff.
11 SEIC wires (if you have a diesel, 9 if gas). These are used for among other things: to modify your idle control by simply flipping a switch.
4 upfitter wires, 2 12 or 14 ga, 2 18 ga:
Aux-1 Circuit No 1936 wire color: Orange/Lt. Green [30amp]
Aux-2 Circuit No 1933 wire color: Orange [30amp]
Aux-3 Circuit No 1934 wire color: Orange/Yellow [10amp]
Aux-4 Circuit No 1935 wire color: Orange/Lt. Blue [10amp]

More here:

High Idle

and here:

Good luck.

Al

Re: Upfitter switch wiring locations

The wires are located in a bundle behind the fuse box in the cab. You'll need to remove it (4 bolts - 10mm socket required) to get to the wires. Wire colors are:

Aux. 1 - 30Amp Orange w/light green trace
Aux. 2 - 30Amp Orange
Aux. 3 - 10Amp Orange w/yellow trace
Aux. 4 - 10Amp Orange w/light blue trace

More detailed information about the Upfitter switches can be found in
the Electrical Wiring section of the Ford Truck Body Builders Layout
Book, found at www.fleet.ford.com/truckbbas.

Mine were tucked up out of the way so well, that I had a h3ll of a time finding them even though I knew where they were.

Re: Upfitter switch wiring locations

Okay, please enlighten me. What does "11 SEIC wires (if you have a diesel, 9 if gas)." mean.
I did the high idle mod. Now I need to wire aftermarket lights and this confuses me.

Re: Upfitter switch wiring locations

Hotcrazee, look at the *.pdf in the second link I posted. The info I regurgitated is in the lower left. Apparently, these are to access the computer by vehicle upfitters and people like us e.g. high idle mode. Not sure they're used for aux lighting. There, now I've exhausted my knowledge on that subject.
