Used Truck Warranty

Hi All,
Does anyone know if there are warranties available for used trucks. I'm getting an 04 PSD with 38000 miles on it. Seems to run fine now but just in case.....Thanks!

Do you still have a valid warranty on the truck?
If yours has expired then you probably can't get a Ford extended warranty.

I just bought this truck from the previous owner and he said the ford warranty ran out last month. I was going to try to check with a dealer today, but was trying to get some advance info from board members.

Yes, my original warranty ran out, didn't realize because I was the 2nd owner and it goes by the "in srevice date". But I was abel to purchase a Ford ESP not an aftermarket one.

I just purchased a Ford factory ext. warranty. I paid $200 for an inspection at the dealer then I got the 48 month / 4 yrs. ext. warranty for $2400.

I did so at 63k miles and 9 months out of warranty.

I would strongly reccommend the ext. warranty.

If the truck breaks and you are out of warranty, Ford can su&* you dry.

I change oil every 5k (Rotella Syn. 5W-40), fuel filters every 10k (Ford Filters Only), air filter every 30K (Ford Filter Only), Changed trans. oil/filter & diffs. oils at 50K. Mostly highway miles & some around town.

From 5/23/09 - 6/19/09 At 62K miles & 9 months out of warranty, I spent $8K b/c of & getting this X fixed; 3 Ford Dealers in 3 dif. states replaced: EGR Valve, Cleaned Turbo Pipes, IAT,Map Sensor, ICP, VGT, (Cleaned Turbo -Compression ring still sticking), Replaced Turbo. On 6/19/09 I bought Ford Ext. War. 4yrs./48k.

Buy your Ford Factory Ext. Warranty.

I got the 4yr/48k plan too for $2255, but didn't have to have or pay for the inspection.
My truck had 60k and was one month out when I purchased.

This is interesting. I stopped at a Ford dealer today and was told that the only thing available was a 7 year/200,00 mile Care warranty, $1990.00. This conflicts with what some of you all have experienced. From researching other threads now it seems that all the dealers may not be up to speed with what may be available. I will keep searching. Any more feedback will be great.

So if they inspect it you can still get a warranty? Does it matter how long its been out? I'm going on almost 2 years out, but only have 49k miles.
Do you have to throw down the 2k all at once?
I may have to check that out.

What was the "name" of te warranty that you all were able to purchase? Can you share the name and location of the dealerships because it seems it doesnt matter where I get it from.

I purchased the Powertrain Care Plan, it covers 29 componentsand is for new and pre-owned vehicles.I was told you can only get the 7yr/200k plan if you r 5yr/100k original warranty is still in effect.Taht's why I bought this one.Sucks that w/ our trucks that have such low mileage that we're out because of time.
Mine was purchased through Rodman Ford in Foxboro Mass.

This is what it looks like. After feed back from you all I was able to speak with several local dealers and also followed the link that was provided above in an earlier post. Looks like there are 4 warranties availanle since Im beyond the initial coverage(1 Month out, that stinks). Without a doubt the straightest talkin guy in the whole bunch was Jeremy from the link that is posted above. No BS, knew the products and gave a rock bottom price the first time. He is in Wisconsin( I think). Said he could still provide a Ford warranty to me with a vehicle inspection done by a local dealer. Said hr does this often. Each local dealer had to research and get back with me. Then their prices were notably higher. Trying to find out now if the local prices included the cost of an inspection. Thanks!
