vibration

Has anyone noticed a vibration at around 15k rpm's ? You can feel it in the steering wheel the most and has a drone type noise at times. It only happens at around 15k rpms so I would think its an engine or trans problem. Its been getting worse started at about 900 miles and is worse when pulling a trailer.I've havn't been to dealer yet because it hasn't thrown any codes and they will prob say they can't find anything wrong but its getting worse so its a matter of time before it shows its ugly head. Thanks for any info

At 15K RPMs, you'd have parts flying out from under the hood, forget the vibrations, heh. Assuming you meant 1500 RPMs, then I'm going to guess this is the infamous "exhaust drone." Ford was messing around with some new turbo pedestal designs to fix it, but I'm not sure they ever hit upon the magic bullet.

Since it seems like everyone who ever put in an aftermarket exhaust system lost the drone, I'll probably do that someday.

Re: vibration

Under similar conditions, mine makes a grumbling, groaning sound.

Wait, maybe that's my wife and kids . . .

Re: vibration

lol yes 1500 rpm's If the PSD ran 15k rpm's we would all be at the race track on sundays. I thought it would be turbo or exhaust related just by the way it acts.It wouldn't be that bad but its right at 55mph and makes it more noticable. Hey if after-market exhaust fixes it shouldn't Ford pay for it ? In a perfect world right.

Re: vibration

My drone immediately disappeared after putting a Magnaflow exhaust on my truck.
