vibration

My truck has always had a slight freeway speed vibration since I bought it. After almost a year and 14000 miles, it has gotten worse. It now vibrates the whole truck pretty good. I dont think it is a tire issue as I have had my tires rotated and rebalanced 3 times and have use two different brands of tires. It still does it. I feel some slight vibration in the steering wheel but it feels more like the whole truck is shaking. Maybe a driveshaft issue? Any ideas? I'd like to know more info before I take it into the dealer.

I am aware of the vibration/shimmy on the 05's but mine is an 04 with the old leaf suspension.

Re: vibration

I have had vibration issues in the past. Mine is an 05. Note: I don't know what kind of ruck you have? Turned out the be the shimming of the carrier bearing on mine. Added (2) 1/4" shims (dealer) improved, added (1) more 1/4" (3) total and vibrations went away. Note: my vibration issues only occured when towing. Thought the truck was going to vibrate apart it was so violent under acceleration. Don't remember what the angle is supposed to be. But your dealer should know as there have been ford write ups on the issue. Good luck.

Re: vibration

Check your front hubs. A bud's '02 F-350 4x4 did the sme thing. Finally drivers side hub failed w/ lots of collateral damage. Once both front hubs replaced, no more vibration.

Re: vibration

Dealer said driveshaft, and a new one is on order. Sound right? Kinda what I thought.

Re: vibration

i've always had a faint driveline vibe. got a complete CV shaft setup, and the vibe i had is gone, but it brought out a new one that i undescribeable 47-57mph is undriveable! cause... cheezy tranny mount had failed and looks as if it's been bad for a long time...

the 7.3l mount fit's exactly in place and is 2x the unit... we'll see if it cures it
